The HR Generalist is responsible for:
- Gathers and analyzes data to assist with operations planning; identifies trends, needs and establishes business processes to ensure HR services support the organization’s business objectives.
- Reviews data to identify potential cause and effect relationships between data groups, summarizes findings to make recommendations related to analysis.
- Works collaborative with HR Business Partners to identify and resolve issues and develop solutions:
- reviews and tracks corrective actions and performance improvement plans
- counsels managers on policy compliance related to day-to-day management of employees
- develops and executes action plans
- Assists with developing and delivering management or employee process training:
- identifies training needs for business units and individual coaching needs
- participates in the evaluation and monitoring of and following up on the outcome of the training programs to ensure success
- Coordinates various projects, independently or in collaboration with others, such as annual employee engagement survey, process training development, exit survey data analysis and reporting.
- Participates in workgroups or committees as a subject matter expert to address Human Resources issues relating to organizational restructuring, program expansion, new system implementation etc. May gather information from others in the department to assist with making decisions and communicate them across the department.
- Processes program unemployment claims by gathering data pertaining to the former employee’s employment history, responding to charges in writing or online and representing the organization in hearings to contest the claim. Conducts an analysis to ensure charges are accurate and submits payment quarterly.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration or related field.
- Three to five years relevant work as a Human Resource Generalist; progressively more HR-related experience.
- Advanced interpersonal skills necessary to appropriately counsel managers; to collaborate and build relationships cross-functionally at all levels of the organization; gather, exchange and interpret information with both internal and external customers; and to participate on workgroups or committees.
- Analytical abilities necessary to collect and report on quantitative and qualitative data using multiple resources.
- Advanced problem-solving abilities necessary to identify and assist in resolving complex human resources issues, develop ad hoc reports, identify trends and make appropriate recommendations.
- Demonstrated proficiency and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and familiarity with Access, to record exit information data, present analyses of jobs, salaries and the like. Presentations may include moderately complex spreadsheets and graphs to summarize data appropriately.
- Demonstrated flexibility and multitasking skills to work in a business environment managing numerous priorities and excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Results-oriented, highly motivated, able to complete assignments in a timely and accurate manner.
- Ability to work independently and function successfully in a team environment.
